The purpose of this infographic is to raise awareness for the depleting shark population around the world. I love ocean life, and sharks are one of the most beautiful and fascinating animals in the world. They are older than trees, have been around since before the dinosaurs, and have evolved massively over time. Part of the reason that I wanted to create an infographic based on raising awareness for shark conservation is because I read that sharks have survived 4/5 mass extinctions, yet are now endangered due to climate change, commercial fishing, and pollutions. It’s time for a change. I plan on expanding my work on this topic as I develop my skills as a designer.

Concepts
In these initial concept explorations, I wanted to focus on combining graphic elements along with photographic imagery to capture that this issues is more real than people believe. I wanted to show a shark and its connection to humankind. After going through concepts, I decided to focus on using only graphics to capture the audience's attention while also making the iconography more fluid and the text more readable.
